The Lake Agassiz Girls Choir, along with the majority of successful children’s choirs, is committed to providing travel experience as part of our program. All three choirs participate in one traveling tour per season. The distance traveled and time away varies by choir level. Tour plans are made as early as possible during the season so that families are able to plan their own activities, vacations, and finances accordingly. Our goals for touring include:

• Providing enrichment through performance opportunities
• Providing a supplemental music education opportunity
• Providing a musical and social “team-building” experience
• Providing a well deserved reward for work well done

It is important that all choir members participate in the tour. Each choir member pays for part of the tour. LAGC offers optional “tour account” fund raising acitivites in order to assure that the tours are affordable to all. Tuition and tour fees must be up to date no later than two weeks before departure.

Cantare Choir Tour – the tour often lasts from three to five days and may occur during the school year or in June when the school year is complete. Additional travel may be considered in order to accommodate LAGC participation in festivals or other opportunities. This tour may include airplane travel.

Melodia Choir Tour – the tour is typically from two to three days and most likely occurs during the school year. The girls are provided performance opportunities as well as appropriate cultural opportunities such as museum visits and seeing historical sites.

Canzonetta Choir Tour – appropriate for this age group, a one to two day tour is scheduled. This offers and opportunity for these girls to get a feel for traveling with the choir, the responsibility it entails as well as the fun.
